Faulk fond of Maroney: According to the Providence Journal, Patriots RB Kevin Faulk said teammate Laurence Maroney can still be successful despite a down year in 2008. "L is always going to be L. He's always going to keep his head up," Faulk said about Maroney. "But we tell him, 'You can't do anything about what people say about you. All you can do is control what you can do.'"

Fantasy Analysis

We like Maroney to have a bounce back year this season, but he still remains a low-end Fantasy option since the Patriots brought in Fred Taylor and still have Sammy Morris and Faulk on the roster. Still, Maroney's too talented to avoid in drafts and is worth taking with a late-round pick in all leagues.

RB Laurence Maroney isn't likely to be headed out of New England this offseason. One of the major sightings at Thursday's workout, besides Tom Brady, was that of Maroney working as a kick returner on special teams. That's been his role in the past, though Ellis Hobbs took hold of it the past two seasons. Hobbs is now in Philadelphia, so the Patriots need a replacement. Can Maroney win the job? This would be a good way for him to work himself back in the good graces of the coaching staff following a disappointing, injury-plagued 2008 season. 52/8/2009
