OT Walter Jones was placed on the season-ending, injured reserve list after his unsuccessful attempt to return from microfracture knee surgery. "It is too early for a career eulogy," Seahawks coach Jim Mora said. "But the excellence of Walter is probably unparalleled at that position in the history of the game. This guy has done everything to you can do to be great, year in and year out." Jones, and in a conversation with reporters after the team's announcement, said he has no immediate plans to retire. "My next step is to continue to keep working and try to get back," he said. "I still want to play this game. I still have the love. I like the competition. I still want to go out and compete with the guys, so that's my No. 1 goal right now, is to continue to keep doing what I've got to do to get back on the field for next year." 10/28/2009
