| LaBoy signs with the Chargers: The Chargers announced Friday that they agreed to a two-year contract with pass-rushing LB Travis LaBoy. “Travis is an outstanding player. He brings experience and production to the position,” General Manager A.J. Smith said in an official release. “He is a relentless pass rusher and great competitor. It’s very exciting to add Travis to our pass rushing corps.” LaBoy has averaged about five sacks per season since he was drafted in 2004. (Updated 07/29/2011) |

| LaBoy should be able to push the underachieving Larry English for a starting spot on at outside LB opposite Shaun Phillips in the team's 3-4 scheme. Fantasy owners should expect him to have a better chance at getting to the passer with the top-notch San Diego front-seven as opposed to the group he was working off of in San Francisco last season. LaBoy finished 2010 on the injured reserve with a knee issue, but he should be healthy enough to play at the beginning of the season. Consider him to be a marginal LB option on Draft Day in IDP formats, with potential sleeper value. (Updated 07/29/2011). |
