Ted Ginn, Michael Floyd sit out preseason game
by Igor Mello |

The Cardinals will be without wide receivers Ted Ginn and Michael Floyd Saturday against the Texans due to injuries, the team announced. Ginn is nursing a knee injury and is expected to miss a "few days," while Floyd will sit out approximately 6-10 days due to a groin injury.

The team will travel to Minnesota on Aug. 16 for a preseason game against the Vikings.

Addition of Ted Ginn should help Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer

Cardinals offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin believes that the addition of receiver Ted Ginn will only help the prospects for Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd to have big seasons in 2014

"[I]t's going to help the overall passing game a lot from a play-action standpoint and a drop-back standpoint," Goodwin said of Ginn's arrival per the Arizona Republic. "It's going to help Larry (Fitzgerald) and Michael (Floyd)."

The thinking is that Ginn will attract enough coverage to keep extra defenders from playing tight on Fitzgerald and Floyd. Without a third receiver boasting speed like Ginn, Fitzgerald had 954 yards and 10 touchdowns while Floyd posted 1,041 yards and five touchdowns.

Giants checking out Ted Ginn?
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer

The Giants have shown interest in free agent receiver Ted Ginn, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. Ginn is an option for the Giants after missing on Jacoby Jones, who re-signed with the Ravens. Ginn had 556 receiving yards despite limited snaps and revitalized the return game for the Panthers last season, averaging 23.8 yards per kick return and 12.2 yards per punt return.

Re-signing Ted Ginn higher priority than Brandon LaFell
by Larry Hartstein |

With Carolina's Nos. 2 and 3 receivers, Brandon LaFell and Ted Ginn, headed for free agency, the Panthers are expected to make re-signing Ginn a higher priority, reports the Charlotte Observer. Ginn had 556 receiving yards despite limited snaps and revitalized the return game.

LaFell's agent tried to work out an extension with the team before the season, but was told no deals would be done until the offseason, the report said.

Ginn made it clear he wants to return. He's grateful the Panthers gave him a chance at receiver, in contrast to his former team the 49ers.

“I want to be able to give them the joy back by having me and sticking together,” Ginn told the paper. “There’s nothing like being somewhere where you have good people around you."
