Ellison has minimal Fantasy value in Fantasy IDP leagues for defenders. We don't expect him to touch the ball on offense again this season and don't suggest starting him in Week 16 at Denver.

LB Keith Ellison received a strong vote of confidence from coach Dick Jauron. Still, there has been enough activity at the weakside linebacker position this off-season to make one believe the team isn't entirely sold on having the tough-but-undersized fourth-year pro return as the starter. Ellison, a restricted free agent, has signed a one-year tender from the Bills that will pay him at least $1.01 million this season. That's a decent investment for the team. Still, Buffalo has courted free agents Cato June and Freddy Keiaho, signed Chiefs free agent Pat Thomas, and Jauron has openly brought up the potential of Alvin Bowen, a good-looking rookie a year ago who tore up a knee in camp and will be back. Meanwhile, there are some very good outside linebacker prospects in the draft, such as USC's Brian Cushing. Ellison, a former sixth-round pick, has started 30 games over the past three seasons as an emergency replacement. He has 188 tackles but is often overpowered at the point of attack and his pass-rushing skills (2.0 sacks) are limited."Keith is our starter," Jauron said. "He's done a really nice job for us whenever he's stepped in and played. He's very smart, very athletic, a tough guy and a great teammate. So we're OK. But like every position we'll keep looking.
