William Moore was released by the Falcons on Monday, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.
Moore has managed just two complete 16-game seasons in his seven-year career, and 2015 wasn't one of them. Limited to 11 appearances due to groin and ankle concerns, he was eventually placed on injured reserve as a result of the latter injury, but not before totaling 51 tackles (38 solo), two interceptions, and one forced fumble. While he turns 31 in the offseason, he likely can offer safety depth to another organization, as long as he remains healthy.
Injuries have been a problem for Moore throughout his entire career, but he's been solid when he's been on the field. He'll be pressed by some young players in the offseason, but he has two years remaining on his contract and should start at safety for the
William Moore (ankle) was waived on injured reserve Tuesday.
Derailed by injuries for a second straight year, Moore has now played 12+ games just once in his last five seasons. He's still one of the Atlanta Falcons ' top defensive players when healthy, but the team may want to address his projected 2016 cap number of $6.65 million. William Moore (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in San Francisco.
Moore didn't practice all week and will miss a second straight game. Kemal Ishmael figures to fill in at safety, but with Robenson Therezie possibly getting some of the snaps, the situation is best avoided in IDP leagues.
William Moore (groin) did not practice Wednesday.
After sustaining the groin injury during the Atlanta Falcons ' Week 7 matchup against the Titans, Moore was unable to play in Week 8 against the Buccaneers. Any fantasy owners should monitor Moore's status throughout the week leading up to Sunday's contest against newly-named starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert and the 49ers.
