Vincent Jackson held to 51 receiving yards Week 2
by Igor Mello |

Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson was limited to four grabs for the second straight week, as his team took another loss at home, this time to the Rams in Week 2.

Jackson was Josh McCown's primary target throughout the afternoon, but was held to just one catch for a gain of 7 yards in the first half. He caught passes for 6, 18 and 20 yards on the first drive after halftime, however, he was only targeted once more the rest of the way.

Jackson caught four of the seven passes thrown his way for a team-high 51 yards in a 19-17 defeat. He has eight catches for 87 yards through his first two games.

Tampa Bay will travel to Atlanta for a Thursday night divisional showdown against the Falcons.

Vincent Jackson endures quiet opening-week performance
by Igor Mello |

Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson got off to a slow start and had a quiet game against the Panthers in Week 1.

Jackson was unable to find any chemistry early on with Josh McCown. He was targeted four times and was held without a grab in the first half. He came down with catches for 6 and 7 yards on the opening series after halftime. Jackson finished the game as the team's third-leading receiver, registering four receptions for 36 yards. He was targeted a team-high nine times in a 20-14 defeat.

Vincent Jackson will get his fare share of looks in Week 1
by Igor Mello |

Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson could be in for a difficult matchup at home against the Panthers in Week 1.

Last season, wide receivers averaged 15.88 Fantasy points in standard league against the Carolina, which was third-best in the league, only behind Seattle (14.79) and Tennessee (14.00). In two meetings last season, Jackson was targeted 18 times. He compiled 154 yards on eight receptions.

The offensive scheme will probably be centered around Doug Martin, but Jackson will certainly get a fair share of targets. Consider him a solid starting option in the majority of Fantasy formats for Week 1.

"Relationships like that are only going to help this team grow, and so yeah, I feel good about the chemistry,: Jackson said. "I feel like we have guys in positions where we’re going to be able to spread the ball around, whether it’s to the tight ends, the running backs or the wide receivers."
