S Abe Elam has had an up and down camp. He intercepted three passes over two days in practice. He gave up a 53-yard touchdown pass to Donald Driver in the Green Bay game. A holding penalty on Elam wiped out a 95-yard touchdown return by Joshua Cribbs against the Lions. Later in the game he shot through the line on fourth-and-one to dump Avelon Cason for a one-yard loss. 82/3/2009

Elam was traded to the Browns, along with defensive end Kenyon Coleman, quarterback Brett Ratliff and two draft picks, in a deal that allowed the New York Jets to move up in the draft to select USC quarterback Mark Sanchez.
