PK Rhys Lloyd, a kickoff specialist, did a better job on Sunday of preventing a kickoff return for a touchdown when he tackled LaRod Stephens-Howling around midfield. It still wasn't a great tackle, but Fox said it was an improvement over the Tampa Bay game where Lloyd he not only missed a tackle on a kickoff return for a touchdown but also sprained an ankle. Fox begrudgingly complimented Lloyd by saying, "(At least) he got up in one piece this time, too, which was good." Lloyd booted six of his seven kickoffs into the end zone Sunday, although three were returned by Stephens-Howling. Carolina allowed an average of 31.5 yards per kickoff return and they remain in last place in the league in that category. 1//4/2009

The Ravens waived Lloyd on Saturday.
