Dolphins' Ross says Mike Wallace apologized to Hickey, Tannenbaum
by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com

After sitting out the second half of the season finale over reportedly getting into a halftime argument with coaches, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said Monday that Mike Wallace apologized to general manager Dennis Hickey and executive vice president Mike Tannenbaum, reports the Miami Herald.

Despite apologizing for his actions during the season finale, Wallace was still traded to the Vikings for a fifth-round pick.

Dolphins trade Mike Wallace to Vikings
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com

Mike Wallace landed a $40 million deal with the Dolphins two years ago.

Failing to live up to expectations with two consecutive seasons below 1,000 yards, the Dolphins have traded Wallace and a seventh-round pick to the Vikings for a fifth-round pick, CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora confirmed.

ESPN was the first to report the story

Wallace will now join a receiving group that already features Cordarrelle Patterson and will have second-year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater throwing him the ball.

Wallace caught 67 passes for 862 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2014. He signed a five-year, $60 million deal with the Dolphins in 2013.

Report: Dolphins again trying to deal Mike Wallace
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

The Dolphins are again looking to trade WR Mike Wallace

Earlier in the offseason, the team looked into trading the receiver, who was benched for the second half of the season finale after a halftime argument.

Unable to reach a deal with another team, it appeared Wallace would stick with the Dolphins. However, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Friday's trade for Kenny Stills has put Wallace back on the trading block.

The Dolphins have room under the cap to keep both Stills and Wallace.

Mike Wallace on taking a paycut: 'I'm not about to do something too crazy'
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace told Josina Anderson of ESPN on Monday that the $3 million figure of his $9.9 million salary for 2015 became fully guaranteed last March. Wallace told her that he's happy playing in Miami because "it is a nice place to play football," and that he would consider a paycut.

"Like I said, I am willing to help out the team, but at the same time I'm not about to do nothing crazy either," Wallace said. "I'll definitely help the team out, but it has to be reasonable -- what I feel is reasonable."

When asked what he felt was reasonable, he said: "I don't know. I have to see what exactly what my agent and the team is talking about and whatever I feel is reasonable. It's not set like this is what it is. If we come to an agreement, I'm with it. Like I said, I'm not about to do something too crazy. I still have a family that comes first."

Wallace has failed to reach 1,000 yards with the Dolphins in either season after recording that mark twice with the Steelers in his first four NFL seasons. Last season, he turned 115 targets into 67 catches for 862 yards and 10 touchdowns. It was the first time he has scored 10 times in a season since 2010.

Mike Wallace's father: 'He thinks he's going to stay' with Dolphins
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Burnell Wallace, the father of Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace, told Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald that although the uncertainty has been "tough" for his son, he expects him back in Miami next season.

"Right now, he's been talking to them," Burnell Wallace said. "He thinks he's going to stay there. He doesn't have a problem staying. [But] they really don't know. I really can't give you a definitive answer."

Wallace, who signed a five-year, $60 million contract with the Dolphins prior to the 2013 regular season, was the third highest-paid receiver in the league in 2014 behind only Percy Harvin and Calvin Johnson. He is owed a $3 million roster bonus on March 14.

Wallace hasn't lived up to expectations in relation to his big contract, and was benched in the final game of the 2014 season after reportedly getting in a halftime argument with team personnel. He has failed to reach 1,000 yards with the Dolphins in either season after recording that mark twice with the Steelers in his first four NFL seasons.
