Heyward-Bey caught one pass for 46 yards in Pittsburgh's 27-24 overtime win against Cleveland on Sunday.
DHB had his first reception since Week 7, and finishes the regular season with 114 yards and two scores on six receptions. He also had one rushing attempt for 60 yards, which came in Week 6 against Miami, who the Steelers will host in the Wild Card playoff game.
Heyward-Bey (foot) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Heyward-Bey, who last saw action in Week 9, is back in business, but we'd like to see the veteran wideout log a full and productive game before endorsing him as a fantasy lineup option. In eight games to date, Heyward-Bey has recorded five catches (on 15 targets) for 68 yards and two TDs.
Heyward-Bey (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Heyward-Bey, who last saw action in Week 9, is inching toward a return, but even if he does suit up Sunday, we'd like to see the veteran wideout log a full and productive outing before endorsing him as a fantasy lineup option.
The speedy wideout has missed each of the last five games due to a foot injury, but head coach Mike Tomlin expressed some optimism earlier in the week regarding Heyward-Bey's status for Sunday's matchup with the Ravens. The fact that Heyward-Bey practiced Wednesday, albeit in a limited capacity, is an encouraging sign that he's making strides towards a return to the field. His level of participation should be monitored through the end of the week, but if he continues to progress, there is a chance he'll be able suit up against the Ravens. If he does return, it could cut into Sammie Coates' and Eli Rogers' targets.
Head coach Mike Tomlin expressed hope Tuesday that Heyward-Bey (foot) returns to action Sunday versus the Ravens, Bob Labriola of the Steelers' official site reports. "He was running full speed in a straight line last week, and we're going to do some unanticipated directional changes this week and check his football readiness," Tomlin said.
Heyward-Bey logged his fifth consecutive absence Sunday at Cincinnati due to a sprained foot, but if his recent workload is any indication, he's getting closer to game-day readiness. Any practice reps this week would mark his first since Week 9 and perhaps set him up for his long-awaited return.
