Lee (knee) participated in practice Monday, ESPN's Todd Archer reports.
Lee was a limited participant in practice since going down last week, but it's unclear as to whether he was a limited participant or not on Monday because only a portion of practice was open to the media. Nonetheless, his participation only bodes well his health, as well of his chances of suiting up for Sunday's NFC East showdown against the Giants.
Coach Jason Garrett told reporters Tuesday that
Lee went down in Monday's practice, but according to team personnel, the knee injury that he suffered likely won't keep him sidelined much longer. While this is encouraging news by all accounts, Lee has a long history of ailments that warrant close monitoring. Dallas recently declared quarterback Tony Romo "fine" after he suffered a back injury earlier this week, but it was later revealed that he would need to miss 6-10 weeks, so while the reports that Lee's injury will not linger are certainly great to hear, it would be wise to wait and see how he performs once he returns to action.
Lee sat out of Monday's practice with a knee injury, Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram reports.
"Lee" and "missed time" have almost become synonymous in nature. The 30-year-old has had a history of gruesome injuries, and while this particular knee injury is relatively raw, Dallas' concern is warranted given his injury pedigree. It would be wise to refrain from any declarations regarding his immediate future, but there is surely going to be some cause for concern in Dallas until Lee proves he can stay on the field.
Lee was not a full participant during Thursday's practice, despite the fact that he's supposedly 100 percent healthy. Derek Akunne figures to be next in line to start at outside linebacker Saturday with Lee potentially sidelined.
The Cowboys kicked off training camp in Oxnard, Calif. on Saturday, and after the first practice, Lee said, "[I] Felt great today." Considering he had arthroscopic surgery on the knee on Apr. 29, his offseason activity was predictably scaled back. However, with his recovery complete, he'll prepare to handle weakside linebacker in the Cowboys' 4-3 alignment yet again.
