Bills WR Terrell Owens on the Bills gaining only 167 yards (Carolina had 425): "You really can't complain about a win. That's what you play the game for. Offensively we didn't execute all the time. Fitz (Ryan Fitzpatrick) did a good job of managing the game and put us in the right situations and we made big plays."
Bills S Jairus Byrd on having four picks in two games: "I can't remember a string like this. ... I always knew what I could do. The question is, other people didn't. I didn't lack confidence. I just knew it was an act of timing. That everything would come in to place."
Bills coach Dick Jauron: "This was a huge win for us. When you win the takeaway-giveaway 4-0 the percentages of your wins are huge. I thought Ryan Fitzpatrick did a good job with what happened out there."
Bills FB Corey McIntyre has a knee sprain and his return is questionable.
Bills FB Corey McIntyre was shaken up on the field and has been taken to the locker room with 9:50 left in the fourth quarter.
The Bills had only two plays of longer than 10 yards until Ryan Fitzpatrick just hooked up with WR Lee Evans on a 55-yard strike to get the Bills in scoring range again.
Both Buffalo TDs have been set up by INTs by rookie FS Jairus Byrd. His INT returns set the Bills up at the Carolina 17 and 7 yards lines giving the Bills offense a short field to work with.
Early in the fourth quarter, the Bills still don't have 100 total yards but lead the Panthers 14-2 behind a Ryan Fitzpatrick TD pass to Lee Evans. Carolina's offense has 333 total yards, but no points on offense.
Buffalo's rookie S Jairus Byrd now has four interceptions in his last two games, including two today against Jake Delhomme.
Jake Delhomme has just thrown his 12th INT of the season with the ball deflecting off the hands of WR Steve Smith and into the arms of Jairus Byrd, who has his second pick of the day.
Bills TE Derek Fine was just down on the field and being looked at by trainers. He appears a little wobbly getting up and walking off the field. The Bills are now down to their third TE Jonathan Stupar.
The Bills are winning 7-2 at halftime despite only 39 total yards on offense and two first downs in the first half. Buffalo's only score came when they started a drive at the Carolina 7-yard line following a Jake Delhomme INT.
The Bills came in with the worst run defense in the league. And while they've allowed the Panthers to run for 76 yards on 16 carries, they've held the Carolina offense scoreless.
For the second time this season, the Panthers have tackled a running back in the end zone for a safety. This time, it was DT Hollis Thomas breaking through to get Buffalo's RB Fred Jackson in the back of the end zone.
The Panthers came in with the second-ranked pass defense in the league and have limited Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick to 5 yards on 1-of-5 passing so far. Fitzpatrick doesn't have great arm strength and underthrew Terrell Owens on a deep route.
With DT Kyle Williams out for the game, Spencer Johnson is working with the first-team defense for the Bills.
Marshawn Lynch's 7-yard TD run was Buffalo's first rushing TD of the season.
Bills rookie FS Jairus Byrd has done it again, recording his fourth INT of the season. He picked off Jake Delhomme and returned the ball 37 yards to set up a Marshawn Lynch TD run.
Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is off to a rough start, missing on his first three pass attempts while under heavy pressure from the Panthers defense.
Bills DT Kyle Williams, who was questionable coming into the game with a shoulder injury, has left the game with a knee injury and will not return.
For the Bills, RT Jamon Meredith will start for Jonathan Scott, meaning that they'll have three rookies starting on the OL.
With WR Roscoe Parrish designated as the third QB today, Fred Jackson is expected to return punts and kickoffs for the Bills.
One matchup to watch today will be Bills LT Demetrius Bell against Carolina DE Julius Peppers. Peppers has been on fire of late, registering four sacks, 13 tackles and one forced fumble in the last two games.
Ryan Fitzpatrick will make his 16th NFL start today, but his first with the Bills. Fitzpatrick, who has thrown 18 career picks and 13 TDs, will face the league's second-ranked pass defense in the Panthers.
The Bills are once again without their starting safeties, which means rookie Jarius Byrd gets the nod at FS, while George Wilson will start at SS.
Buffalo's inactives include: QB Trent Edwards, S Donte Whitner, S Bryan Scott, RB Xavier Omon, TJonathan Scott, TE Shawn Nelson, DE Chris Ellis. And here's an odd one - WR Roscoe Parrish is the third QB. That's right, Parrish is the third QB.
