As expected, QB Aaron Rodgers was named the 2011 Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player on Saturday. Rodgers won the award in a landslide, earning 48 of a possible 50 votes. He set the league record for passer rating (122.5), completing 68.3 percent of his throws for 4,643 yards with 45 TDs and only six INTs for the 15-1 Packers. Packers RapidReports

The Packers named Tom Clements as their offensive coordinator on Thursday evening. Clements, who had been the team’s QBs coach since 2006, takes over for Joe Philbin, who left to become head coach of the Dolphins. Long snapper Brett Goode: A-minus.  If you don’t notice a long snapper, he’s probably doing a good job. You never really noticed Goode. His snaps were almost always textbook, and none resulted in turnovers or broken plays. He only had one tackle in coverage but that’s not really why the Packers are paying him. Packers RapidReports

P Tim Masthay: A-minus. Masthay was excellent, if not often needed. He built off the late-season success of 2010 and became a consistent, effective punter. He got 41.8 percent of his punts to land inside the opponents’ 20-yard line, good for third in the league. Directionally and distance-wise, Masthay is the best punter Green Bay has had in a while. K Mason Crosby: A-minus. This was Crosby’s best season in Green Bay. His FG percentage of 85.7 was far higher than his previous best (79.5 in 2007), and he kicked himself into Packers history with a record-tying 58-yarder. Crosby also hit his first game-winner, nailing a 31-yard FG to beat the Giants as time expired in Week 13. His kickoffs routinely resulted in touchbacks. Packers RapidReports

DB M.D. Jennings: Incomplete. It was a major surprise that Jennings made the team as an undrafted free agent. He became the lone backup safety when Nick Collins suffered a season-ending neck injury in Week 2, but never played a defensive down. Jennings did contribute on special teams and the potential is there to climb the depth chart. Packers RapidReports

DB Davon House: Incomplete. House was inactive most of the season and never took a defensive snap. The rookie fourth-rounder, who has big-play potential, battled injuries and just couldn’t get on the field. This offseason will be big for House, who can shoot up the depth chart in a secondary as bad as Green Bay’s. Packers RapidReports

DB Pat Lee: C-minus. Lee has probably run out of time in Green Bay. He’s shown no ability to contribute as a CB, with injuries and poor play derailing his development. He was superb on special teams (except as a returner), but that probably isn’t enough for a 27-year-old free agent whose potential has topped out to get re-signed. Packers RapidReports

DB Jarrett Bush: B-plus. The Packers would be foolish not to re-sign the underrated and oft-maligned Bush, who is a free agent. After his best season at CB, Bush (two INTs) could want more money than the team wishes to spend, though he’s said he wants to return to Green Bay. He’s an amiable, emotional leader and a special teams ace. Packers RapidReports

DB Nick Collins: Incomplete. Collins suffered a severe neck injury in the second game of the season and his career is in jeopardy. He stuck around the Packers facility all season, was jovial with teammates and reporters, and seemed at peace with whatever his football fate would be. DB Sam Shields: C-minus. In his second season, Shields regressed. He’s blindingly fast, has great hands and is a potential big-time playmaker. Too often, though, he’s easily beaten. Still very raw, having been a WR until halfway through college, Shields (four INTs in 2011) can become very good. But he’s got to at least try and tackle in run support. Packers RapidReports

DB Charlie Peprah: C. Peprah was thrust into action when S Nick Collins’ season ended with a neck injury. Peprah played true to form – he was a physical leader who made some plays but was a liability in coverage. He had five INTs but allowed eight passes of at least 20 yards. His missed tackle in the playoff loss was a catastrophe. Packers RapidReports

DB Morgan Burnett: C-plus. This was essentially the second-year safety’s first season, as he was injured for most of 2010. Burnett was the defensive version of TE Jermichael Finley: full of potential but maddeningly inconsistent. He played with a club on his broken hand much of the season, which greatly encumbered him, but he still made 107 tackles and five turnover plays.  Packers RapidReports

DB Tramon Williams: D-plus. One year after being named a Pro Bowler, the 2011 version of Williams was unrecognizable. He hurt his shoulder in the season opener and it hindered his physical style of play. The classy CB was timid in run support. Williams gave up an astounding 16 receptions of at least 20 yards, a historically high number. Packers RapidReports

DB Charles Woodson: B. The crafty, 14-year veteran CB was exactly what the Packers expected him to be against the pass: a risk-taking playmaker and a coverage liability. Woodson led the team with seven interceptions, including one he returned for a TD, but also was burned often on big plays. The Pro Bowler was simply not good defending the run. Packers RapidReports

LB Jamari Lattimore: C. The undersized (6-2, 230 pounds) Lattimore contributed on special teams, which kept him active for 10 games. He saw virtually no snaps on defense, where he’ll need to add strength and weight to be an OLB factor. The undrafted free agent is a high-effort player who has potential if he can get bigger.
