Feb. 10, 2012 2:33 p.m. - by Bob Gretz - 2012 Chiefs FA preview: CB Travis Daniels, unrestricted After stints with Miami and Cleveland, Travis Daniels has spent the last three seasons with the Chiefs, with most of his contribution coming in the kicking game. Daniels did have a pair of interceptions in the 2011 season with 23 total tackles -- including 13 in the kicking game. He’ll be 30 in September and it’s unlikely he will be a priority signing for the Chiefs. Chiefs RapidReports
Feb. 10, 2012 2:31 p.m. - by Bob Gretz - 2012 Chiefs FA preview: DE Wallace Gilberry, unrestricted Coming off a disappointing 2011 season, DE Wallace Gilberry doesn’t figure to see a big pass rusher’s contract. Hhe played all 16 games, but had just three tackles and 2.5 sacks. In the previous two seasons he had a combined 11.5 sacks. At 6-2, 270 pounds, Gilberry isn’t big enough to be a full-time DE in the 3-4 defense. He may return, but it will be on Chiefs terms. Chiefs RapidReports
Feb. 10, 2012 2:30 p.m. - by Bob Gretz - 2012 Chiefs FA preview: CB Brandon Carr, unrestricted Selected in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft, Brandon Carr started all 64 games in the last four seasons at right cornerback. He’s one of the AFC’s better cover corners, combining good size (6-1, 210 pounds) with speed. Carr had four interceptions in the 2011, giving him eight for his career. Although he will be expensive, Carr is a must re-sign for the Chiefs defense. Chiefs RapidReports
Feb. 10, 2012 2:29 p.m. - by Bob Gretz - 2012 Chiefs FA preview: WR Dwayne Bowe, unrestricted Over the last two years, Dwayne Bowe has been the Chiefs most productive weapon, catching 153 passes for 2,321 yards and 20 TDs. The 27-year old Bowe is a five-year veteran entering what should be his prime years. He’s been durable and has developed into a hard worker. The Chiefs need him back if their offense is to move forward in 2012. Chiefs RapidReports
Feb. 10, 2012 2:17 p.m. - by Bob Gretz - 2012 Chiefs FA preview: TE Antony Becht, unrestricted As a journeyman tight end, Anthony Becht made a career moving from team-to-team. During the ’11 season, he was on-and-off the Chiefs roster three times. He ended up playing nine games, starting five and catching three passes for 26 yards. Becht will be 35 in August, and his return to K.C. is doubtful. Chiefs RapidReports
Feb. 10, 2012 2:16 p.m. - by Bob Gretz - 2012 Chiefs FA preview: RT Ryan O'Callaghan, unrestricted A still undisclosed injury ended the 2011 season for Ryan O’Callaghan in August. The six-year veteran will be 29 years old this summer. At this point, O’Callaghan doesn't have much upside, but expect him to be re-signed as long as he agrees to the Chiefs price. Remember, he broke into the NFL with New England, always an important fact with GM Scott Pioli. Chiefs RapidReports
Feb. 10, 2012 2:15 p.m. - by Bob Gretz - 2012 Chiefs FA preview: RB Jackie Battle, unrestricted Over four seasons, Jackie Battle has been a good special teams contributor and a solid No. 3 running back. He was the only K.C. runner during the 2011 season to top 100 yards in a single game. Battle finished as the leading rusher with 597 yards on 149 carries and two TD runs. He also had five tackles in the kicking game. Chiefs would like him back. Chiefs RapidReports

Chiefs RapidReports
Feb. 10, 2012 2:12 p.m. - by Bob Gretz - 2012 Chiefs FA preview: FB Le'Ron McClain, unrestricted Le’Ron McClain's signing was heralded last August as a big addition for the offense, but he barely registered on the 2011 radar. McClain ran 15 times for 51 yards and caught 14 passes for 82 yards. Overall, he was on the field only 40 percent of the time. Unless the Chiefs are going to use him more, it doesn't make sense for them to re-sign him. Chiefs RapidReports
Feb. 10, 2012 2:10 p.m. - by Bob Gretz - 2012 Chiefs FA preview: RB Thomas Jones, unrestricted One of the most productive NFL runners over the last decade, Thomas Jones hit the wall in 2011, and the yards came in much smaller increments. Jones finished with 478 yards on 153 carries. He’ll be 34 in August; if he decides to play, it will be his 13th season. The Chiefs loved the leadership he brought, but it’s hard to see where he'd fit in on the field. Chiefs RapidReports

Playing both nose tackle and defensive end in the 3-4, Gordon finished with 20 tackles and two sacks, the first of his seven-year career. Gordon’s versatility and personality opened playing time doors for him. The Chiefs will likely try to keep him -- but only at their price. Chiefs RapidReports
