The Bucs were denied an opportunity to interview another team's assistant coach for the third time in two weeks, NFL.com reported. San Francisco was the latest when it made defensive backs coach Ed Donatell unavailable to the Bucs. Arizona and Green Bay also turned down Tampa's requests to interview an assistant. Former New York Giants quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan has been hired as the Bucs offensive coordinator, the team announced Friday. "(Sullivan's) work with the Giants the past eight seasons speaks for itself," coach Greg Schiano said in a statement. "Mike was an integral part of that team winning two Super Bowls." Former NFL and college head coach Butch Davis is expected to join the Bucs as thier senior defensive advisory assistant, but he will not be a part of the official coaching staff or work with players on the field, The Tampa Bay Times repoted.
