The NFL is disputing a report that it will suspend troubled Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick for the entire 2007 season, the USA Today reports.
According to two sources in a story on Yahoo.com, the NFL was drifting towards a suspension and "the plan was to make sure it was announced before the season."
"Given what everybody has seen from what (league) security found and what the feds are telling us, there's really no choice," one of the sources said.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello went on the record, saying that a decision hasn't been made regarding Vick, despite Yahoo.com's claim that an announcement is coming this week or next.
The league is waiting on the outcome of an independent review of the Vick case and will not take any action until it is concluded.
