Titans' Henry appeals four-game suspension

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee rookie running back Chris Henry appealed his four-game suspension Wednesday for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, keeping him available for the Titans with LenDale White and Chris Brown both injured.

Henry officially was notified last weekend he tested positive for a substance added to the league's banned list within the past year, and he had five days to appeal or accept the suspension. He played in the Titans' 20-7 win against Carolina last weekend and practiced Wednesday.

White sat out practice with what he called a sore toe, but Brown practiced in his first full session since spraining his left ankle in the second quarter of a 13-10 loss Oct. 14 at Tampa Bay.

"It's always somewhat frustrating when you're dealing with a situation like this," Henry said. "But we'll get through it and take it day by day."

Henry has played as White's backup with Brown out, and he has 18 carries for 102 yards and two touchdowns.
