Heel injury could sideline Redskins' Moss against Eagles

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El were unable to practice again Friday, putting the Washington Redskins in a perilous position at receiver for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Moss is sidelined with a bruised heel and is listed as questionable on the injury report, but neither Moss nor coach Joe Gibbs sounded optimistic that it would heal sufficiently before game time.

"Same that it felt all week. Sore. Hurts. Painful," Moss said. "I couldn't tell you yes or no right now. It's one of those things where I'll just have to see how it feels on Sunday."

Randle El has had a relapse of a nagging hamstring injury. He is listed as probable, but the injury likely will have an effect on his speed and agility if he plays.

"It's a frustration for us," Gibbs said, "knowing how important this (game) is."

The Redskins are the only team in the NFL without a touchdown pass to a wide receiver this season, and Moss and Randle El are the only wideouts who have been somewhat productive. The other receivers on the roster - James Thrash, Keenan McCardell, Brandon Lloyd and Reche Caldwell - have combined to catch only nine passes through eight games. Lloyd wasn't allowed to travel to last week's game against the New York Jets after missing a team meeting.

Moss has struggled since missing the Oct. 7 game against Detroit with a groin injury, catching only 12 passes for 98 yards over four games. Randle El hurt his hamstring in the Detroit game and has since caught only nine passes for 141 yards.

Two other Redskins with hamstring injuries, cornerback Fred Smoot and linebacker Marcus Washington, practiced and are listed as probable. Defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin (back) also practiced and is probable.
