If Favre wants to fly again, he might have nowhere to land
The same goes for the Chicago Bears, another solid team that is quarterback needy. So what else is out there? Assuming Favre only wants to play for a possible playoff contender, the options aren't many.
Tampa Bay? Jon Gruden collects quarterbacks like a 10-year-old collects baseball cards. Plus, Gruden and Favre have a history from when Gruden worked on the Packers staff.
How about the New York Jets or Baltimore Ravens? The question there is whether either is a real Super Bowl contender. It's the same for San Francisco.
So you see, while Favre might be ready to fly again, there might be no place for him to land.
If Green Bay doesn't want him, that should be a message to Favre to stay retired. It isn't so bad, Brett.
Somebody would be wise to pull out some old shots of Joe Namath in a Los Angeles Rams uniform for Favre, or maybe Johnny Unitas in a San Diego Chargers uniform. We don't need to see that play out again.
If the Packers don't want him, there might not be anything worth Favre coming back for.
