Software gives Dallas Cowboys film-study shortcuts
Games will be shot directly to a laptop, however, league rules prevent any electronic devices in the coaches' booth except for a telephone and printer to avoid any potential spying violations.
"But now the coaches can grade the film on the way home instead of having to wait," Blackwell said.
On the train ride from Oxnard, Calif., to San Diego on Friday, defensive line coach Todd Grantham spent time breaking down video. Linebacker Zach Thomas is going to purchase the software for his laptop so he can spend time at home breaking down opponents.
"The technology is allowing you to have more teaching tools for the players," Grantham said. "You can make more position specific cutups to show each guy. It's just an easier way to teach."
