CINCINNATI (AP) -The Bengals put fullback Jeremi Johnson on injured reserve Wednesday and signed free-agent fullback Reagan Maui'a.
Johnson suffered a knee injury during practice Monday, coach Marvin Lewis said. Johnson had missed most training camp workouts while he reduced his weight and got in shape. But he will miss the 2008 season.
Maui'a was released Saturday by the Dolphins, who decided to keep Boomer Grigsby as their fullback because he is a better receiver. Maui'a started nine games last season and carried four times for 5 yards. He also caught a pair of passes for 5 yards.
