Raiders notes: Janikowski moves up on team lists
"The O-line was really there for me," Henderson said. "They made life a lot easier for me."
Good catch -- Rookie Tyvon Branch had only three interceptions in college while playing for Connecticut.
In his second NFL game, Branch snagged his first, while wearing a cast on his right hand because of a broken thumb.
He was surprised he caught the ball, which had been deflected by Raiders cornerback Stanford Routt.
"It was a tipped ball," he said. "It came nice and soft to me. I got lucky."
Et cetera -- Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker started the game because the offense was in a three-receiver set. He didn't have a pass thrown to him in his Raiders debut while recovering from a hamstring injury.
--All the quarterbacks struggled with their accuracy because of winds measured at 25 to 30 mph at kickoff. JaMarcus Russell was just 6 of 17 for 55 yards. The Chiefs were a combined 17 for 38 for 173 yards with two interceptions.
Kiffin said Russell played well in spite of the wind and praised his ball security after he had a turnover last week.
--Had the Raiders not allowed a late touchdown, they would have had their first shutout since Dec. 28, 2002. That was a 24-0 win over the Chiefs in Oakland.
