Is Jay Cutler worth two first-round picks -- and maybe more?
That's what one league source said Denver is asking in return for Cutler, the starting quarterback the Broncos placed on the trading block. They want the picks and are also interested in adding a player in any deal, maybe even a quarterback to take over for Cutler, the source said.
The Broncos made known their intention to try to trade Cutler on Tuesday, when owner Pat Bowlen sent out a statement to members of the media. That ended a monthlong battle between the disgruntled quarterback and new coach Josh McDaniels.

The final decision to trade Cutler came after the team said he did not return messages for the past 10 days.
The Washington Redskins are believed to be the leaders to acquire Cutler, although some league sources still believe the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are strong contenders and might be the team that lands him. The Bucs would open the season with Luke McCown as their starter right now, but a Tampa Bay source said the team is looking to upgrade that position before the open of the season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers were rumored to be interested in Cutler, but they are not, according to league sources. The Panthers do not have a first-round pick in this year's draft, which would make it tough for them to make a move for Cutler. Plus, the front office seems committed to Jake Delhomme.
The Washington Post reported Thursday that the Redskins are actively trying to acquire Cutler, which is why they are considered the front-runner. The Redskins have Jason Campbell, but he struggled late last season and he's entering the final year of his contract.
Redskins owner Dan Snyder made a huge move in signing defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to a $100 million contract. But this would be an even bigger move, one that could make the Redskins contenders in the NFC East.
Cutler, who turns 26 on April 29, is coming off a Pro Bowl season. He threw for 4,526 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2008.
