Browns sign offensive lineman Foster

CLEVELAND (AP) -The Cleveland Browns signed offensive lineman George Foster on Friday and waived rookie safety Jason Venson.

Foster is a six-year NFL veteran who spent the previous two years with the Detroit Lions. He appeared in 19 games, starting 12 of them.

The 6-foot-5, 338-pound Foster was a two-year starter at Georgia. He was drafted in the first round in 2003 by Denver.
