Rosenfels-Jackson competition ends with Favre's arrival
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Brett Favre has been welcomed with open arms by most of his Minnesota Vikings teammates.
The arrival of the three-time MVP means quarterbacks Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson will have to get used to sitting on the bench.

Favre first told the Vikings before training camp that he was going to stay retired. That meant Rosenfels and Jackson would compete for the starting job.
Things abruptly changed Tuesday when Favre took a plane from Mississippi to the Twin Cities and signed with the Vikings. He was throwing at practice a short time later.
Rosenfels says "it's not what I was hoping for." But he pledged to continue to compete and be a good teammate.
