Report: Colts' Freeney (right quadriceps) out 2 to 3 weeks

INDIANAPOLIS -- Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney could miss two to three weeks with an injured right quadriceps, according to a report on ESPN's website.

The story cited an unnamed league source.

Colts spokesman Craig Kelley said the team would not provide a more detailed injury report until Wednesday. Freeney's agent, Gary Wichard, did not respond to e-mails sent by the Associated Press.

Freeney was injured on the last play of the third quarter of Sunday's victory over Arizona. He walked to the locker room and team president Bill Polian said Monday night that Freeney said "if he could walk, he could play."

Freeney has four sacks this season, fourth in the NFL and AFC, and is a former league sacks champion.

Freeney down is a HUGE loss.  He sets the tone for the "d" because no QB can feel safe knowing that he is lurking on the blind side ... every drop-back pass has the potential for strip and TD the other way.  Colts are vulnerable these next two weeks without him.

Freeney said "if he could walk, he could play." Hopefully we don't see that freak accident resulting in a broken arm anytime soon...

Seriously though, I would have to think that, if the Colts were told that this was going to happen, and they had to choose a period in whi

it seems like more and more teams are losing big pieces of their team due to injury these days. better teams are losing to sub par teams more frequently than ever. i hate new england and Tom Brady but even i was sick to see him gone for the season last year. it is really becoming hard to watch.
