Chiefs' Bowe returns from four-game suspension
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs placed running back Dantrell Savage on injured reserve and released receiver Quinten Lawrence to make room for receiver Dwayne Bowe's return.
Bowe was back in uniform for Sunday's game against Cleveland after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's drug policy.
Savage played in 13 games, returning 34 kickoffs for 793 yards while filling in as a backup running back and returning punts. Lawrence played four games in Kansas City, with one catch for nine yards and 12 kick returns for 237 yards.
The Chiefs promoted guard Darryl Harris from the practice squad.
Kansas City was also without three starting linemen against the Browns, with guard Brian Waters, tackle Ryan O'Callaghan and defensive end Glenn Dorsey on the inactive list.
Waters, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, was out with a hamstring injury. Dorsey hurt his knee last week against Buffalo. O'Callaghan was a late addition to the injury report this week.
Joining them on the inactive list were receivers Bobby Wade and Lance Long, tight end Sean Ryan and linebacker Pierre Walters.
Cleveland was without cornerback Coye Francies, safety Ray Ventrone, linebacker David Veikune, guard Billy Yates, tight end Greg Estandia, receiver Jake Allen and defensive end Robaire Smith.
