Redskins announce coaching changes

  •

The Washington Redskins announces Friday that Steve Jackson will remain the safeties coach and name Sean McVay offensive assistant.

Jackson originally joined the Redskins in 2004 as passing game coordinator and safeties coach. "Steve brings a great knowledge of the defensive backfield and has a good feel for our current personnel," Redskins V.P. and coach Mike Shanahan says in a press release. "He is an excellent teacher and will be instrumental to what we are trying to accomplish defensively in Washington."

McVay joins the Redskins following an undefeated regular season with the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League (USFL), where current Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett served as the Head Coach. "Sean is a young, energetic coach who comes from a great football background," Shanahan said. "We are excited to have him on our staff."
