Browns cut four players, trim roster to 75 wire reports

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Browns have reduced their roster to the mandatory 75 by cutting four players, including defensive back Gerard Lawson.

He recently pleaded no contest to a driving under the influence charge. Lawson appeared in five games on special teams last season and has played in 20 games the past two seasons with Cleveland.

The team also waived defensive back John Bowie, wide receiver Taurus Johnson and offensive lineman John Malecki.

Defensive lineman Titus Adams was placed on injured reserve with a leg injury.

The Browns have to get their roster down to 53 on Saturday.
