Tomlin refuses to promise Big Ben starting job
Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin declined to promise Ben Roethlisberger his starting job once the Pittsburgh quarterback's suspension is complete.
USA Today reported that Tomlin, speaking on Siruis Radio, said, "I'm going to dodge that one and not artfully." when asked if Roethlisberger would start once his four-game suspension is finished.
"I'm not going to back myself in corner."
Dennis Dixon has been named the starter for Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. He replaced Byron Leftwich, who was the designated starter before suffering a knee injury. Charlie Batch also is on the Steelers' roster.
Roethlisberger is eligible to return to action after Week 4. The Steelers have an open date in Week 5, so the two-time Super Bowl winning QB could be activated for the Week 6 game against Cleveland.
