"I do believe in doing what's right and that was not right," Haley said, via KansasCity.com. "I probably let the emotions of the situation get me too much. I apologize to the fans and to Denver and to Josh."
McDaniels' Monday news conference began with several questions about the exchange and McDaniels said he still had no idea why Haley was upset with him. He said Haley hadn't called to apologize or elaborate and didn't delve too far into the controversy.
"I don't know, I'm not sure about that," McDaniels said, via the Denver Post, about why Haley didn't shake his hand. "I was proud of the way we played and I have a lot of respect for their entire organization. Obviously I know a lot of people over there."
Haley declined to say in his postgame interview exactly why he was angry with McDaniels, whom he'll see again at Arrowhead Stadium on Dec. 5.
