NEW CITY, N.Y. -- A New York judge has refused to allow a teenage prostitute to speak at Lawrence Taylor's sentencing.

The former New York Giants football star is being sentenced Tuesday for sexual misconduct and having sex with an underage prostitute. The girl, now 17, appeared in court with well-known attorney Gloria Allred.

Allred said before the court session that the girl would read a victim-impact statement.

But the judge said victims are entitled to speak only at felony sentencings. Taylor pleaded guilty to misdemeanors.

Taylor isn't expected to get jail time. Six years' probation is likely, but he also will have to register as a sex offender. The judge also will determine which sex-offender level to assign to Taylor.
