DE Babin, Eagles have five-year agreement

The Sports Xchange

Defensive end Jason Babin agreed to a five-year deal with the Eagles, where he'll be reunited with former Titans defensive line coach Jim Washburn, FoxSports.com reported.

Babin had 12.5 sacks with the Titans last season. He'll play opposite Trent Cole in his second stint with the Eagles.

Babin had a career year in 2010 and has just 30 sacks in eight NFL seasons with the Texans, Seahawks, Chiefs, Eagles and Titans. He played in Philadelphia in 2009.

The Eagles were seeking an upgrade to complement Cole, who has eight or more sacks in five straight seasons, including 22.5 in the past two years.

They're likely to be without 2010 first-round pick Brandon Graham, who suffered a knee injury last season and underwent microfracture surgery.

According to reports, Babin's deal was a bargain compared to the asking price of Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards. Edwards is considered one of the top defensive ends on the market.
