Packers running back Ryan Grant accepted a $1 million pay cut as part of a restructured contract that in turn guarantees him money.
Gant???s base salary will be reduced from $3.5 million to $2.5 million, decreasing his cap number to $3.797 million, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The agreement came on Aug. 9.
Grant, who is coming off a season-ending ankle injury in Week 1 last year, now has a full guaranteed contract as he enters the final year of a four-year, $18 million contract, according to the newspaper.
He???s competing for playing time in a backfield that includes James Starks, who emerged as a solid running back during the Packers??? Super Bowl run.
