Redskins' Atogwe questionable, Westbrook out vs. Panthers
ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins could be without two defensive backs when they play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Coach Mike Shanahan said starting safety Oshiomogho Atogwe will be listed as questionable after hurting a knee last week against Philadelphia. Asked if Atogwe practiced on Friday, Shanahan said, "not really."
Shanahan said backup cornerback Byron Westbrook will not play. Westbrook injured a hamstring during practice Wednesday.
The Redskins will also be without offensive linemen Trent Williams (right ankle) and Kory Lichtensteiger. Lichtensteiger went on injured reserve, out for the season, with torn right knee ligaments.
Tight end Chris Cooley is another player on the sidelines. He broke his left index finger against Philadelphia and had surgery Wednesday. He said he expects to return in about a month.
