Vikings CB Winfield out for season with broken clavicle

Antoine Winfield returned from a four-game absence to play in the Monday night game at Green Bay only to suffer a broken clavicle that is likely to end his 2011 season.

He was injured in the second half of the 45-7 loss at Lambeau Field, where the Packers shredded the Vikings' secondary for four touchdown passes and quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 23 of his 30 passes.

The Vikings' thin secondary might have also lost safety Husain Abdullah for a significant amount of time. Abdullah suffered a concussion, his second this season, and the Vikings are likely to be cautious bringing him back into the mix.

Winfield, 34, is signed for two more seasons but is owed a total of $14.25 million in salary and major changes are expected in Minnesota during the offseason.
