Seahawks sign Giacomini to 2-year deal
SEATTLE - The Seahawks signed offensive tackle Breno Giacomini to a two-year contract extension. It will pay him $1.5 million in base salary in 2012 and $3 million in 2013, according to the NFL Players Association website.
Giacomini finished the 2011 season as the team's starting right tackle after rookie James Carpenter suffered a season-ending knee injury. Giacomini, who was brought to Seattle by former Packers personnel man and current Seahawks GM John Schneider, started eight of the 15 games he played in.
The Seahawks now have 17 players scheduled to become free agents March 13.
Meanwhile, ESPN reported that Seahawks director of pro personnel Will Lewis is leaving the team after 13 years.
