Report: Giants' Pierre-Paul pulls out of pro wrestling appearance
Apparently New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul had second thoughts about confronting a pro wrestler in the ring, even if no actual wrestling would be involved.
Despite reports on Saturday that Pierre-Paul would make an appearance Monday night as part of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, Foxsports.com reported Sunday that the deal is off.
Robert Bailey, the president of Rosenhaus Sports, said told FOXSports.com that Pierre-Paul will not be on hand for Monday???s event in Orlando, Fla.
TNA and Spike TV officials were led to believe a deal had been finalized for Pierre-Paul to confront Kurt Angle in the ring during the TNA television taping of the event.
But Pierre-Paul had not signed to participate when it was reported Saturday, and he has no plans to sign.
"He declined because he is exhausted," Bailey told FOXSports.com in a text message.
It was never in the plans for Pierre-Paul to wrestle Angle. He was just supposed to get into a verbal altercation with the pro wrestler in the ring. Angle had participated in a similar stunt with New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott last year.
