2012 Draft Prep: 10-team PPR mock draft
The fun of playing in 10-team leagues is every owner basically has an All-Star team. It's hard to walk away from your draft complaining about a bad roster. If that happens, you must have done something incredibly wrong.
We recently conducted a 10-team PPR mock draft, with the idea of adding the scoring change to make the league a little more difficult. We always recommend adding new wrinkles to your league to make it more challenging.

In this draft, there were several things that stood out. Only one quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, was drafted in the first round, and also just one receiver went in Calvin Johnson, which is somewhat odd given the scoring system. Jimmy Graham was drafted at the end of Round 2, but Rob Gronkowski fell to Round 3.
Even with the scoring difference, there were still 17 running backs drafted in the first 30 picks and only seven receivers. Running back is the thinnest position for Fantasy owners this year while receiver is the deepest, which allows you to wait and still get talented players.
In a 10-team league, you can also take risks where you might not otherwise. You should also capitalize on great value. Some examples include Trent Richardson in Round 3, Adrian Peterson in Round 5 and Frank Gore in Round 7. Richardson dropped because we did this draft on the same day he had arthroscopic knee surgery, Peterson was still on the PUP list with his knee injury and Gore is someone many owners want to avoid -- unless the price is right.
As always, we ask you to share your thoughts on this draft. Take advantage of our Fantasy Football Twitter feed (@CBSFantasyFB) and post your comments there, or share your thoughts on our Fantasy Football Facebook page.
In this league, all touchdowns are worth six points, and we award one point for every 10 yards rushing and receiving, one point for every 25 yards passing and one point for every reception. We feature a starting lineup of QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, K, DST and a FLEX (RB/WR/TE). There will also be five reserve spots for a 14-round draft. This lineup reflects our CBSSports.com FREE Fantasy Football game.
We also had a special guest join us for this draft as Jason Hagan -- a randomly-selected reader -- was chosen on Twitter to mock with us. This is something we plan to do going forward, so be on the lookout for your chance to draft with us.
