Burress still looking for job, to work out for Patriots

Free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress will work out for the New England Patriots, ESPN reported Sunday.

The Patriots are practicing Sunday afternoon and coach Bill Belichick will speak to reporters afterward.

Burress has recently been linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys, according to NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk. He has reportedly said that he is willing to play for the veteran minimum salary and he is back to his old, dominant form.

New England quarterback Tom Brady already has plenty of targets, including wide receivers Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd and tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, so it is unclear how much of a role Burress would have if the Patriots sign him.

Ironically, Burress caught the game-winning touchdown pass for the New York Giants in the 2008 Super Bowl that beat the Patriots.
