Saints trim roster from 90 to 75

METAIRIE, La. (AP) - The Saints have trimmed 15 players from their preseason roster, including veteran reserve quarterback Luke McCown and defensive tackle Remi Ayodele.

Other cuts announced by general manager Mickey Loomis on Monday include receiver Marques Clark, who was brought in for a tryout after quarterback Drew Brees liked what he saw from the little known former Henderson State player during offseason workouts at a San Diego high school.

The remaining players waived are: linebacker Aaron Tevis; tight end Jake Byrne; receivers Derek Moye and Kevin Hardy; offensive linemen Brian Folkerts, Paul Fenaroli and Hutch Eckerson; defensive linemen Donavan Robinson and Swanson Miller; and defensive backs Kamaal McIlwain, Cord Parks and Johnny Thomas.

New Orleans' roster now stands at 75 heading into its final preseason game at Tennessee on Thursday night.
