AP Pro32 comments about Titans

  •

NEW YORK (AP) - Comments on the Tennessee Titans by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

---

TENNESSEE TITANS (28)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 25) - Rough early schedule.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 27) - Few holes and few yards for Chris Johnson, equals no wins for this team.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 32) - Struggling defense and lack of a running game putting too much pressure on Jake Locker.

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 26) - Problem with Chris Johnson is a concern (21 yards on 19 carries). Locker has more yards rushing.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 32) - Titans have been outscored 72-23 in first two losses. Not quite the way Jake Locker envisioned how things might go in his first year as a starter.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 29) - The Titans are one of six NFL teams still looking for its first rushing touchdown. Chris Johnson needs to find the end zone for Tennessee to have a chance.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 28) - This is all you need to know about Tennessee: Chris Johnson has 21 yards rushing this season. He used to get that in a single carry. Of course, the Titans used to win, too.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 30) - Defenses are daring Jake Locker to beat them. So far, he can't.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 29) - The club decided to go with Jake Locker, which is the right thing in the long run. But as long as Chris Johnson is ineffective, Locker will struggle.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 27) - Surprised this team hasn't played better because I believe they are well coached and have some good players. Scoreboard doesn't tell that story thus far in 2012.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 30) - Running back Chris Johnson (19 carries for 21 yards) isn't the Titans' only trouble spot. Second-year quarterback Jake Locker looks overmatched and the defense can't cover tight ends.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 30) - In their first two games they have been outscored 72-23, which means the Titans have a lot of issues.
