|33||A||Jaguars select: Johnathan Cyprien, SS, Florida International |
This fills a huge need. They had to find a starter at safety. He has range and can tackle. Nice hit.
|34||B||Titans select: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee |
They had to get a receiver outside to help Jake Locker. This kid had first-round ability.
|35||B+||Eagles select: Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford |
I love the pick to find another tight end to go with Brent Celek. Ertz is a nice receiving tight end. But was it a need?
|36||B-||Lions select: Darius Slay, CB, Mississippi State |
He can run and fills a huge need for the Lions. They play in a division with a lot of good passers, so they have to cover better. Some injury concerns.
|37||A-||Bengals select: Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina |
I love this for the Bengals. They get an air back, which they need. This is a good pick.
|38||C-||Chargers select: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame |
I just think taking a two-down linebacker in the second round is too expensive. That's what he is. I don't like it.
|39||B-||Jets select: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia |
Geno Smith in this spot is nice value. It's about where he should have gone. How many quarterbacks do they have now?
|40||A-||49ers select: Cornellius Carradine, DE, Florida State |
I love the pick of Carradine by the 49ers. They can afford to be patient with him. When he's ready to be a star -- and he will be -- take over for Justin Smith.
|41||B||Bills select: Robert Woods, WR, Southern California |
The Bills need help in their passing game and Woods is a polished receiver who will complement Stevie Johnson.
|42||A||Raiders select: Menelik Watson, OT, Florida State |
Love this pick by the Raiders. They have a huge hole at right tackle and this kid will be a star. Nice job, Reggie McKenzie.
|43||B||Buccaneers select: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State |
I like Banks to upgrade a secondary that now has improved greatly -- if Darrelle Revis is healthy. Banks is a longer corner, which teams love.
|44||B-||Panthers select: Kawann Short, DT, Purdue |
At times Short was dominant inside for Purdue. Some thought he'd be a first-round pick. Does get lazy at times. Solid second-round choice.
|45||B||Cardinals select: Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU |
He's a solid linebacker who fills a need. With Daryl Washington suspended for four games, it makes sense.
|46||B||Bills select: Kiko Alonso, ILB, Oregon |
Watching Dion Jordan on tape, I kept moving my eyes to Alonso. He is a nice pickup for a team that needs linebackers.
|47||B-||Cowboys select: Gavin Escobar, TE, San Diego State |
He can get down the field in the passing game and he is the player who will take over when Jason Witten retires.
|48||D||Steelers select: Le'Veon Bell, RB, Michigan State |
I don't like this pick at all. He is a Steelers type of player, but he takes too long to get to the line of scrimmage.
|49||A-||Giants select: Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State |
I think Hankins has first-round talent. He's a productive player from a big program and fills a need. I like it.
|50||C||Bears select: Jon Bostic, OLB, Florida |
The Bears needed to get younger and faster at linebacker and this kid can run. But this is high.
|51||B||Redskins select: David Amerson, CB, North Carolina State |
The Redskins need help in the secondary and this guy can play either corner or safety.
|52||A+||Patriots select: Jamie Collins, OLB, Southern Mississippi |
Love this pick. The Patriots needed help off the edge and this kid is a freak. Great pick.
|53||B-||Bengals select: Margus Hunt, DE, Southern Methodist |
He is a project. But it's hard to argue with the Bengals drafting defensive linemen in recent years.
|54||B||Dolphins select: Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise State |
Taylor is a heck of a corner. When you watched Boise, he was all over the field. I thought he was a first-round talent.
|55||B||49ers select: Vance McDonald, TE, Rice |
The 49ers needed another move tight end with Delanie Walker gone. McDonald will fill that role.
|56||A-||Ravens select: Arthur Brown, OLB, Kansas State |
The Ravens get it. They know how to replace departed players with good football players. Brown is a heck of a player.
|57||B+||Texans select: D.J. Swearinger, FS, South Carolina |
They can't play Ed Reed forever. And Daniel Manning isn't a kid either. This makes sense.
|58||C||Broncos select: Montee Ball, RB, Wisconsin |
I know Denver needs a back, but there were better options. Don't like it much.
|59||C||Patriots select: Aaron Dobson, WR, Marshall |
He is a bigger receiver and they need help there, but I think there were better options.
|60||B-||Falcons select: Robert Alford, CB, Southeastern Louisiana |
This is a little high for him, but he does fill a need. He has good man-cover skills. The Falcons are focused on corner.
|61||C||Packers select: Eddie Lacy, RB, Alabama |
He just takes too long to get to the line of scrimmage for me. But I guess there is some value here.
|62||B+||Seahawks select: Christine Michael, RB, Texas A&M |
I love this pick. Yes, he has some off-field issues, but he is a heck of a runner. Does it fill a need? No. But I like it.
