Weeden: "I want to be the guy."

  •

BEREA, Ohio (AP) - Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden believes he's doing the right things to win the trust and confidence of Cleveland's new coaching staff.

Weeden, who had an uneven rookie season, says he's been working hard at his craft and wants to prove to first-year coach Rob Chudzinski and his staff that he should "be the guy" for the Browns. Weeden took snaps with the first-team offense during Thursday's practice, which concluded the Browns' first week of OTAs (organized team activities).

Chudzinski has not promised Weeden he'll start and the Browns signed Jason Campbell, who will be given a chance to win the job. Weeden said he's being pushed by Campbell and "that's the way it should be."

Weeden says the Browns' new offense is similar to what he ran at Oklahoma State.
