Rams sign Arena Football League's top receiver

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Wide receiver Mike Furrey of the New York Dragons of the Arena Football League signed on Thursday with the St. Louis Rams.

Furrey is leading the AFL this season with 108 receptions, 1,574 receiving yards and 47 touchdowns.

Furrey signed with the Indianapolis Colts out of college in 2000 and spent training camp with the New York Jets last year but has no NFL game experience.

Furrey had 242 receptions during his three-year career at Northern Iowa. Rams quarterback Kurt Warner also played at Northern Iowa and in the arena league.
