TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed wide receiver Bill Schroeder on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Schroeder played for Detroit in 2002 and 2003. He began his career with Green Bay in 1997 and has logged 297 catches for 4,427 yards in his career. He had 72 receptions and seven touchdowns in 30 games over the past two seasons with the Lions.
The Bucs also announced that guard Matt O'Dwyer tore his left pectoral while lifting weights recently and is expected to miss all of training camp after undergoing surgery. His status for the 2004 season is unclear.
O'Dwyer, a 10-year veteran, signed with Tampa Bay in March after spending the past five seasons with Cincinnati.
