INDIANAPOLIS -- Nebraska offensive lineman Richie Incognito discovered Saturday morning why some NFL prospects are reluctant to work out at the NFL scouting combine.
Incognito, a junior center, injured his knee when he caught his foot in the RCA Dome turf, two sources said, and was removed from the field on an electric cart. The extent of the injury was not known, with results of X-rays to be known later Saturday, but one observer said the injury appeared serious.
Saturday was the first day of workouts for players here for the NFL's annual scouting process.
Incognito, who can play center or tackle, was considered a first-day pick in this year's NFL Draft. He was suspended by Cornhuskers' coach Bill Callahan last season after what Callahan said was a series of violations of team policies.
