Boulware rejoins Ravens after getting clean bill of health
WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Former Pro Bowl linebacker Peter Boulware re-signed with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night after passing his physical.
Team doctors spent much of Thursday scrutinizing the details of Boulware's physical. He signed a contract at 6:45 p.m., the Ravens announced in a news release.
The contract was expected to be a one-year deal worth $1 million with an additional $1 million in incentives. The team said Boulware wouldn't comment until after Friday's practice.
The 30-year-old Boulware is the Ravens' all-time leading pass rusher with 67 ½ career sacks. The four-time Pro Bowl selection missed all of 2004 with knee and toe injuries. He was released after the season in a salary-cap move.
Boulware won't play immediately and will be eased into contact drills.

The Ravens plan to use Boulware as a situational pass rusher in nickel packages and as Adalius Thomas' backup at strongside linebacker. Rookie Dan Cody was expected to fill that role, but he might be out for the season with a knee injury.
"We've always talked about the pressure from the outside and contrasting that with Terrell Suggs," Billick said. "If that's a nickel role, you're talking 15-25 snaps. He's capable of doing more, but we have a lot of assets here to balance that out. If we can use him more, we will."
