MINNEAPOLIS -- A prosecutor said Thursday he hopes to decide within two weeks whether misdemeanor charges should be brought against members of the Minnesota Vikings for their antics during a boat party in October.
One day after the Hennepin County sheriff's department determined felony charges were not warranted, prosecutor Steve Tallen said he was examining an inch-thick file about the Oct. 6 party aboard a pair of charter boats on Lake Minnetonka. The attorney representing the boat owners and crew has said the party included sex acts and other lewd behavior.
Tallen is a private attorney who prosecutes misdemeanors committed on the lake, working under contract with Lake Minnetonka Conservation District.
The sheriff's department conducted the investigation and submitted the findings to Tallen on Wednesday. Vikings executive Lester Bagley said Thursday the team has cooperated fully with the investigation and was awaiting further word from the prosecutor.
